From Resentment to Resilience
A Self‑Guided Program for Moms Who Are Tired of Carrying It All
"I vividly remember feeling resentment in those early postpartum days—the exhaustion, the overwhelming sense of responsibility, and the quiet frustration that no one seemed to understand the load I was carrying. These feelings were unsettling, and I struggled to admit them even to myself."

“I feel like I’m doing everything and no one even notices.”
If this thought has crossed your mind more than once lately—you’re in the right place.
Here’s the truth: resentment doesn’t show up overnight. It builds slowly, through skipped showers, unacknowledged emotional labor, endless checklists, and the constant feeling that you are the glue holding everything—and everyone—together. Along the way, you’ve lost you.
From Resentment to Resilience is designed to help you find your way back.

Why is it Important to Understand
Postpartum Resentment?
In early 2023, we published a blog post on postpartum resentment (read here) and it quickly became our most-read article. Due to the overwhelming response, we recently updated it (read here) to reflect how commonly this theme arises in our therapy sessions. Many clients come to us overwhelmed, scared, or even ashamed of the resentment they feel—a feeling that often leads them to question who they are as mothers. They find themselves reacting with anger or frustration that they can’t seem to shake, leaving them feeling like they’ve lost touch with their true selves.
Postpartum resentment is a common and normal feeling experienced by many new moms, though it's rarely discussed openly. The journey into parenthood is life-changing, filled with joy, but also with demands that can feel exhausting and isolating. Between sleep deprivation, endless tasks, and the emotional upheaval that comes with new roles, it’s no wonder many moms start to feel quietly resentful. Understanding these feelings is the essential first step in managing them and finding a path back to balance and self-compassion. If you've experienced any of these feelings, know that you’re not alone, and that there is support and hope on this journey.
We created From Resentment to Resilience as a resource to help moms understand and work through these emotions, finding a new sense of resilience and self-empowerment along the way. Through guided exercises, reflections, and tools, you’ll discover ways to reconnect with yourself, find peace in the everyday, and experience parenthood with greater clarity and strength.
Hi, I'm Heather
I’m a mom of three and a Registered Social Worker who knows firsthand how complex the path to and through parenthood can be. In my own journey, I vividly remember feeling resentment in those early postpartum days—the exhaustion, the overwhelming sense of responsibility, and the quiet frustration that no one seemed to understand the load I was carrying. These feelings were unsettling, and I struggled to admit them even to myself.
Today, at Bloom Psychotherapy, I focus on helping clients work through the emotional intensity of infertility, grief, and the postpartum period, including those difficult feelings of resentment, shame, and guilt that can arise unexpectedly. I’m committed to challenging the myth of the “perfect” mom and creating a compassionate space where parents can reconnect with themselves, feel understood, and find peace on their own unique paths.
I’m so excited to share From Resentment to Resilience, a program I’ve created for moms navigating the complexities of resentment in motherhood. This resource was born out of the real, raw experiences that so many parents face but rarely feel comfortable discussing. It’s designed to help you work through those challenging feelings, reconnect with yourself, and find renewed strength and resilience on this journey. I’ve poured my heart into each page, offering tools, reflections, and exercises that encourage healing, self-compassion, and growth. This workbook isn’t just about managing resentment; it’s about transforming it, helping you feel more grounded, empowered, and connected to yourself and your family.

We recommend having a notebook as well for additional journal pages when you have the space to sit down and write.
