Common Fertility Experiences

Relationship Strain

Navigating a fertility journey can impact multiple areas of life including your relationships with your partner, family, friends and colleagues.

Heightened Emotions

The very real emotions of anxiety, depression, helplessness, hopelessness, overwhelm, and grief are just a few that commonly arise.

Isolation

While these experiences are common, people often feel they are the only ones feeling this way,or that it means they are doing something wrong. It can be difficult to feel support when others can’t relate or don’t know how to be supportive.

Persistent Anxiety

When you want something so badly, and put so much time, energy and money into attempting to make it happen, the stakes are high. If pregnancy does happen, the anxiety doesn’t just dissipate. You may question if and when it is “safe” to stop worrying & to get excited.

How Therapy Can Help

Psychotherapy is a powerful means for change and can help you to find solutions to the issues you are facing.

Through the use of a variety of therapeutic modalities, we will help you to...

  • Process and shift the way you relate to yourself and your fertility experience,
  • Explore stress-reduction techniques
  • Move toward increasing self-compassion.
  • Build your toolbox of healthy coping strategies, including relaxation and mind-body techniques, which some research says improves fertility.

Continuing to process your emotions throughout this experience can help you...

  • Feel better as you navigate this journey by identifying your unconscious thoughts.
  • Decrease your stress and anger, which may be hindering coping and problem-solving.
  • Protect you from developing a severe mood or anxiety disorder, and decrease your risk of developing postpartum depression in the postpartum period.

Our Team of Therapists

We understand the intricacies of reproductive psychotherapy like no other. Our specialized therapists are not only highly trained professionals but also individuals who have walked similar paths. Many of us have firsthand experience with reproductive challenges, so you can trust that we truly "get it".

One of the common concerns we hear is the fear of having to explain all of the medical jargon to a therapist who may not understand.  So many of our clients are exhausted from having to do this with their family and friends. With us, you don't need to worry about that. We speak your language because we've either been there ourselves or have received a high level of training in infertility. You can feel comfortable knowing that you won't have to spend time explaining complex medical terms or feelings – we already understand and won't need to "catch up".

Reproductive Health

Our therapists have undergone extensive training and have accumulated years of experience in reproductive psychotherapy. They possess a deep understanding of the unique challenges individuals and couples face during their reproductive journeys.

Compassionate Approach

We recognize that navigating reproductive issues can be emotionally challenging. Our therapists approach each client with empathy, sensitivity, and understanding, creating a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment.

Holistic Care

We believe in a holistic approach to reproductive health. Our therapists not only address the emotional and psychological aspects but also consider the broader context of your life, including relationships, family dynamics, social expectations, and cultural factors, to provide comprehensive support.

Evidence-Based Practices

Our therapists are trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, attachment-based therapy and somatic psychotherapy/mindfulness-based approaches. We tailor our treatment plans to meet the individual needs of each client.

Personalized Treatment Plans

There is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to reproductive psychotherapy. Our therapists work collaboratively with you to develop personalized treatment plans that align with your goals, preferences, and values, empowering you to take control of your reproductive health journey. We know that things are constantly changing on and we don't stick to any formalized treatment plan.

Support Through Any Journey

Whether you're struggling with infertility, loss, secondary infertility, surrogacy, adoption, or other reproductive challenges, our therapists have the expertise to support you every step of the way. We are committed to helping you navigate the complexities of reproductive health with compassion, expertise, and personalized care.
